Welcome to Rodrigue Studios!

Rodrigue Studios is the artistic collaboration between Crystal and Kevin Rodrigue.  With a combined 20 years experience, Crystal and Kevin bring to the viewer a fresh approach to form, space and image.

Kevin uses his interpretations of form and space to alter materials such as metal, clay, wood, paint and glass to define, enhance and meld with the architecture of a user’s environment. The architecture that is implied may be as simple as a wall hanging or as complex as a site specific architectural sculpture. It is the interpretation that allows Kevin to connect with the viewer’s everyday lives.  The connections are achieved by the viewer sitting at a custom made dining table, observing and appreciating its fluid movements of metal; or walking up to a ceramic wall sculpture and being energized by the bold colors and undulations of the heavily altered clay forms.  It is these minor connections with images, our surroundings, and with ourselves that define who we are and what we believe.

Crystal’s dedication to traditional film photography is the catalyst for her work.  By the use of vintage cameras, unique films, and an endless curiosity of developing techniques, she is able to present a viewer with an interpretation of a private and vulnerable world that she experiences.  Her work reinvents for the viewer a journey; a place in time; and objects overlooked or forgotten.

These reinventions are an opening, and viewers are encouraged to experience and have conversations that share their experiences with hers.  Crystal’s hope is that her work will evoke responses in her viewers that define their experience with her images.
